MakeTime To Grow Your Faith
We are busy people. How do we find time to grow our faith with all that must be done each day?
How do you make time to grow your faith? How do you dedicate more time to God? What are creative ways to spend time with God? We are busy people. Often, when asked, “How was your day?” I would respond with, “Great! I got a lot done today.”
My measuring stick for how my day went depended on how much I got done, period. If I got a lot done, it was a good day. Do you ever do that?

Make a Choice
Ask God
Trust God
If so, join me in making changes that will matter so much more than getting everything on your list completed. When I was still full time teaching, I made a decision to leave the school building one hour after dismissal whether I finished everything or not. My family, my time away from the stress of the job, and my sanity were worth so much more than finishing my list. Not one time was I unprepared. Not one time did I turn in something due late.
I prayed about this.
I asked God to help me accomplish this.
I stepped out in faith. I left the building every day I could one hour after dismissal.
Make a Change
Claim your time back
This practice forced me to use that hour in doing everything that must be done for the next day to be successful for my students and myself. It made me realize when I cleared out the time wasters I would super focus on the things that mattered most for the next day.
This is also where I wasted time. Scrolling on my phone. Posting on my phone. Keeping up with all my social friends. How does that time spent benefit my soul?
Be with God
Be fully present
Now that I had some daylight when I got home, I chose to go for a walk, or ride my bike, and be with God in his beauty of creation. I listened. I vented to God. I left my day’s anxiety alone. When I saw my family, I was free to be with them 100 percent present.
I started setting the alarm for 10 minutes earlier to read a devotional related to scripture and included a prayer. This works for me. Find a time that fits best for you.
Spending time with God is key to getting closer to God I encourage you not to put this on an audio to listen to on the way to work. Give yourself the gift of being fully present with God for ten minutes. You will soon see signs that you’re getting closer to God.
Now when someone asks me how was your day, I can answer that God is with me.
Remember that God provides a way for you. What could be better than that?

Excellent advice, friend. ❤️
Thank you so much, Suzan! I often know that the advice I offer is also the advice I need, too.
