Can I Love Being Retired?
What will you do with all that free time? Will you miss working?

Do you identify who you are by your job title? Do you see yourself floundering for things to do if you retire? Are you afraid to retire?
Keep reading to discover that despite your yes, yes, and another yes, you can love your retirement.
Let’s look at money. A sure test is to try living on half of your income for 6 months to a year before you retire. You will create a nice savings account. If that is not possible, consider a part-time retirement job. Seek a job you would love unrelated to your current job. Think fun! Think flexible hours. Think perks. Think differently than your current skill set.
What do you do with all that free time you will have? The easy answer is what you don’t have time for now.
- Start something
- Finish something
- Volunteer
- Take a free course at your local college
- Join a local theater company
- Take that income you saved and travel
- Support a worthy cause
- Replace something that has worn out

- Purge some more
- Treat yourself once a week to a complete day off from everything
- Plan out your week on a calendar
- Be intentional with your time
- Don’t allow yourself to get bored
- Be a beginner
- Make a wish list with a plan
- Join a community of faith
- Make a difference in someone else’s life
You are a unique individual. You are going to be able to enjoy your retirement with purpose, a time to relax, a connection to people, and the freedom to choose what you will and will not do with your time.
